Sangira
Be That Girl is supporting Sangira to bring job market skills to the youth of Nyamasheke district in Rwanda. 120 people every 9 months are being trained for the hospitality sector, with courses in culinary arts, food and beverage service, front office and housekeeping.
GIRL MOVE
Be That Girl and Girl Move will bring female university student mentors to secondary school female students in some of the poorest Mozambican provinces, inspiring young girls to dream bigger and continue their education.
Amplify girls
Be That Girl foundation is helping AMPLIFY GIRLS, a collective of community-based organisations supporting girls’ empowerment in East and Southern Africa, develop a tool to measure changes in adolescent girls’ agency and make it freely available to all CDOs.
Mobile Creches
Together with Mobile Creches, Be That Girl is helping turn childcare from a woman’s problem into a collective responsibility. In India, only 19% of women participate in the labour force, and 32 million children under 6 live in extreme poverty. Mobile Creches works to address these interconnected challenges.
Mothers without Borders
The Be That Girl programme launched with Mothers Without Borders provides over 422 vulnerable girls in Zambia with scholarships, material support and mentoring to reach their full potential.
Skateistan
Skateistan reaches over 3,000 children in underserved communities, including conflict zones and refugee camps, empowering them with skateboarding and education. 50% of these children are girls.
Andiamo
Together with AYCT, BTG launched a scholarship program for vulnerable girls in Balaka, Malawi, to attend the AYCT secondary boarding school, receive mentoring and life skills training through extracurricular activities.
CAMFED
With Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), Be That Girl is expanding the Learner Guide programme, that brings young women back to their local schools as role models to teach life skills, in Zambia.
